Every architect slowly collects their own personalised library of textures and graphics that gives them their signature look. Here’s the top graphics and texture sites to get you started on making your own little archive.
The essentials
Texture labs is one of the largest texture libraries online and has made graphics that everyone uses, basically it’s graphic design royalty. From lens flares and paper overlays to blood splatters and graffiti, the labs will have what you need to give your image that je ne sais quoi.
This is where I like to get my textures from as they have seamless textures with matching maps. Therefore you can use them in both renders and collages.
This is the place to get digital tools and assets. They’re paid products, however, the free sample pack is amazing and will get you hooked. All their pens, textures, swatches, vectors and templates are golden.
This is one of the best free sites for seamless textures of materials. There’s so many options and they work fantastically for collage work.
Unique indie creators
Need to make some grungy creative images? Design syndrome has amazing unique textures, overlays, effects, mockups and graphics. Most are paid but they have some great freebees and tutorials to get you started.
Working with some of the biggest names in the music industry, Andrey Azizov’s graphic shop is a hidden gem. He’s kindly put together a free sample pack but also has fantastic paid assets.
Studio 2am is a one-stop-shop for all things graphic design. They have an excellent range of fonts, textures, mockups, effects and more that are frequently added to so you’ll always have the latest style.
CG Texture Libraries
This is one of the biggest free libraries of CG textures. With over 2500 assets they’ll have literally any material you can think of in addition to being high quality. All in all, an amazing resource.
This website has free textures of the most common materials, but most are paid. The quality is great and they’re are organised well so you can find what you need quick.
Same as above, another great site with high quality textures. However, only some are free.
This is the only website where it is all paid downloads. I’ve never needed to use it but I’ve heard good things.
